In our aim to move towards a more sustainable business model, at AMIG, we are progressively working to reduce our carbon footprint, reaffirming our commitment to the environment and energy efficiency. Over the past few months, we have implemented several key practices to improve our sustainability.

Solar energy for self-consumption
One of the most important initiatives has been the installation of 408 solar panels with a capacity of 200 kW at our facilities, covering 25% of the energy consumption of both our automated warehouse and offices. This results in a CO2 emissions savings of 25 tonnes per year, equivalent to planting 1250 trees.

Support for electric mobility
Additionally, we have installed charging points for electric cars, encouraging the use of electric vehicles by both our employees and visitors, which reinforces our commitment to sustainable mobility and emissions reduction.

Partnerships with suppliers
To promote the incorporation of eco-design criteria in launching new products, we seek partnerships with suppliers that comply with ESG criteria, reducing products containing components listed as Substances of Very High Concern and strictly adhering to EU legislation on the Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation, and Restriction of Chemicals.

Packaging with Less Plastic
We also actively work to minimise the use of plastics in our product packaging, opting for more sustainable alternatives such as cardboard and recycled paper. Additionally, we reuse leftover cardboard boxes, giving them a second life as filler for other shipments, which significantly reduces material waste.

Sustainable logistics
Moreover, we have implemented the use of return pallets in collaboration with our logistics partners. This system allows pallets to be reused between our facilities and the logistics platforms of our partners up to 3 or 4 times, rather than being discarded after a single use. This extends the pallets' lifespan, reducing the demand for new materials and contributing to more efficient and sustainable logistics.

All these actions are just the tip of the iceberg in our transformation plan towards a more sustainable and environmentally friendly business model, as we believe sustainability is not only a competitive advantage but also a responsibility towards society and the planet.
